A diminutive slant front desk with brass pulls, fold out writing surface edged in gilt stamped leather, two interior and two exterior drawers, bun feet. Slant front and one drawer have a working lock. Drawer is signed Alfred Assid. Desk is said to be a special commission for F.R. Lazarus in the 1950's. Overall it measures approx. 20"H x 21-1/4"W x 11"D. Comes with the key and silk key tassel.

Early 19th Century English Mahogany Traveling Desk: Featured in this lot we have a English mahogany traveling desk originating from the early to mid 19th century. The desk is made of rich mahogany wood with brass handles and fixtures. These desk where used to provide a good writing work space while on long travels such as traveling by boat or train where desks where not always available. The piece shows two velvet covered panels and a total of four storage compartments. The storage spaces consist of two large sections under the velvet panels with a compartment on the top to hold writing instruments with a smaller compartment next to it to hold an ink well of other small items. The desk is marked on the underside of the lower panel reading "A. Banks 59 Rulfou Rd - South Horsly London" scrawled in pencil. The piece is in fair condition overall with dents and scuffs on the exterior and some damage and wear on the interior due to age and use. The desk measures 20 " long overall with it measuring 9 3/4" long by 11 1/2" wide when folded up. Vintage Primitive Pine Desk w/ Fold Out ArmsFrom the estate is a vintage primitive pine writing desk with unique fold out arms and a single drawer. Not quite sure the function of the fold out arms but drawer only opens when the arms are extended. Never seen this before. It appears to be a hand made primitive desk created for a specific purpose for the owner. It has been painted green on base and stained on top. It is in good condition measures 27 1/2'' tall X 34'' wide X 18'' deep.
