The shades in iridescent Tiffany Favrile glass with gold iridescence are engraved with signatures "LCT" (Louis Comfort Tiffany) and "Favrile". The two light arms metal sconces have a gloss bronze finish patina. Louis Comfort Tiffany (February 18, 1848 - January 17, 1933) was an American artist and designer who worked in the decorative arts and is best known for his work in stained glass. He is the American artist most associated with the Art Nouveau and Aesthetic movements. Tiffany designed stained glass windows and lamps, glass mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, jewelry, enamels, and metalwork. Condition:
Base font marked as stated. With a verdigris patina overall. General marks, scratches, rubbing, a few scattered dings and wear. Base with circular 2 1/2in patched repair. With later bulb fitment to top of font in between arms, wired for electricity. Wiring should be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use. Shade a second half 20th century replacement.
