Bore is fairly clean no rifling has a strong action. Mottled brown-steel patina on metal light corrosion in the past. Wood is very dark some dings. V P and Eagles head still visible on barrel. Lockplate has small Eagle over US forward of hammer Springfield 1847 to the rear. Number ''10'' below screw on upper tang. Has a very nice balance but reportedly kicks like a mule!
