bolt action, 10 round stripper clip or hand loaded internal magazine, 20" barrel, hooded front sight, adjustable rear sight, folding spike bayonet, cleaning rod, two sling loops, matched serial numbers at four positions, numbered wood stock, metal butt plate with hinged door for not present cleaning kit, left receiver with number 1 within a star, SN 630516 *REQUIRES FFL TRANSFER* *Provenance: This rifle was taken in combat by then SFC Herman A. Bryant (1935-2016) who served in the U.S. Army 1957-1987 including two tours of duty in Vietnam. During his first Vietnam tour he was assigned to military intelligence and attached to the Phoenix program. Bryant's second tour assignment was with the 71st Medical Group. He retired from the Army with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Among the numerous awards Bryant received are the Bronze Star "1972, For Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces", the Purple Heart, and Combat Medical Badge. Auction includes Bryant's 1970 U.S. form War Trophy Registration/Authorization and Vietnamese custom forms allowing him to bring the rifle to the U.S.
