Note: Domenick Capobianco (American, b. 1928) artist, is a graduate of Washington University at St. Louis, a Rutgers Fellow (1979), and a Guggenheim Fellow (1984/85). Capobianco taught for many years on the faculty at Rutgers University, N.J. His work is in the collections of the Academie des Beaux-Arts, Ljubjana, Slovenia; the Sammlung Albertina, Vienna, Austria; L?Instituto per la Culturea e L?Arte, Catania, Italy; The Kharkiv Museum, Kharkiv, Ukraine; Le Musee d?Art Contemporain, Skopje, Macedonia; The M.V. A VERY UNUSUAL GERMAN(?) HALLOWEEN CANDY CONTAINER(?)The unsigned, unmarked, Halloween decoration bears many of the characteristics of novelties made in Germany prior to the early days of World War Two. It has a strange ink stamp back of the pumpkin head that looks to read Germany. The figures have papier mache heads, the devil body is flocked and sits on a mica flecked base. The Jack-O-Lantern body is covered in real rabbit fur with a musty old smell upon close inspection. The age and origin of this piece are not known for certain.Measures 3.5 x 2.75 x 2.75 inches.Good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair.
