JAPANESE BRONZE SAMURAI FIGURE,JAPANESE BRONZE SAMURAI FIGURE, MEIJI PERIOD A Japanese bronze samurai figure dating from the Meiji period. Fierce and full of movement, a Samurai warrior pulls the reins of his horse, which rears its head back. Warrior in full Samurai garb, including a detachable headpiece on helmet, sword, and dagger hanging from his back armor. Horse is mounted on an oval pedestal.

JAPANESE PATINATED BRONZE OF AJAPANESE PATINATED BRONZE OF A SAMAURIMeiji Period, Circa 1890. Signed on the side of his left breaches. In the manner of Miyao Eisuke. The standing figure with a pensive gaze, dressed in elaborate attire, his chest covered in chain mail beneath a robe decorated with flowers, and Buddhist symbols, he holds a pair of nun chucks, both a Katana and Wakizashi tucked at his side, dark mellow brown patina, on a wood base. Height 12 ½ in. Width 6 in.

Exceptionally well cast bronze sculpture with warm brown patina, depicting a Samurai warrior of the Oda Clan, with the clan's emblem on the chest, with removable traditional chonmage topknot haircut, holding removable sword and sheath in a striking position, attached to carved rosewood stand, marked in bronze with Yoshimitsu hallmarks.
