TWO VINTAGE WEST AFRICAN CEREMONIAL MASKSA pair of vintage West African masks. The first mask is a Senufo tribe Guro mask (Cote d'Ivoire / Mali), a horned mask of carved and painted wood measuring 20" x 9" x 5 1/2". The second mask is a Dan tribe Poro mask (Cote d'Ivoire / Liberia), carved wood and cloth with bells, braided cords, and cowrie shells affixed, measuring 13" x 9" x 4 1/2".
Condition
The Senufo mask is in very good condition, and the Dan mask is in good condition, noting wear to the bells and overall soiling.

Condition
Good condition, noting some scattered staining. The cloth has held its shape well, without notable sagging.

BAULE GOLI KPLE KPLE TRIPLE MASK, IVORY COASTA kple kple three-face mask of the Baule people of Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, used as part of goli ceremonies. Two side-by-side kple kple faces surmounted with horns, and unusually, a third face above is supported by a standing figure and a crocodile. Hand-carved, painted with polychrome pigments.
Measures 25" x 10 1/2" x 6".

Condition
Scuffing and wear to the pigments. There is a chipped loss at the bottom lip of the mask.
