JAPANESE FLY WHISKS Meiji "Hossu" or fly whisks in yak hair with ivory handles, weilded by a Zen Buddhist priest, to shoo away desires (and flies, without harming them), has become symbolic of a Zen teacher's authority to teach and transmit Buddha Dharma to others. 15" to 26" long overall.
