After Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879)After Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810-1879) "Fauconnier Arabe a Cheval" ("Arab Falconer on Horseback"), after a model of 1874, inscribed "P. J. Mene" on the top base edge, impressed "F. Barbedienne" on the lower base, the opposite side impressed "674", h. 31-1/2", w. 23", 10-1/2". This model, one of Mene's most famous, is illustrated in Pierre Kjellberg's Bronzes of the 19th Century (Atglen, PA: Schiffer, 1994) p. 477, no. 6.
