Of historical interest, Major-General Stark (1728-1822) was a Revolutionary War hero and perhaps best remembered as the "Hero of Bennington", 1777. At the age of eight, his family moved to Derryfield (now Manchester, New Hampshire) and he lived at this residence for the remainder of his life.
