Ancient beads on a modern strand with a modern lobster claw clasp to be wearable. Beads all have light signs of wear including a few tiny chips, scratches, and losses. Otherwise, excellent.

PUBLISHED ROMAN GAUL SILVER-WASHED BRONZE FIBULARoman Gaul (France)/ Western Roman Empire, ca. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. A delightful silver-washed, cast bronze fibula or brooch in the form of a standing human figure wearing a long robe. The figure wears a flat cap or has a raised, dome-like coiffure. The features of the face are clear, as are the details of the clothing. Feugere (see below) classified this form as a 29a. Two similar are known, one from Vieil-Evreux, Cracouville, and another from St-Marcel, Les Mersans. This is a fascinating and rare artifact that would have been used to fasten a piece of ancient clothing! Size: 0.45" W x 1.05" H (1.1 cm x 2.7 cm); 2" H (5.1 cm) on included custom stand.

EARLY 20TH C. MEXICAN WOOD SANTO OF CHRIST ON CROSSLatin America, Mexico, ca. early 20th century CE. A painted wood Santo of Christ seated on a cross with real horse or human hair on his head. Christ is seated on the cross in an unusual manner, hands clasped in prayer and legs drawn up as if sitting on the ground. The 'nail' heads are embedded into the cross's surface where his limbs would have been impaled. Perhaps this crucifix was supposed to be viewed lying down with Christ seated upright. Size: 8.5" L x 13" W x 19.75" H (21.6 cm x 33 cm x 50.2 cm)
