The dark brown finish is skinned on one of the front legs. There is a loose stitch on the donkey's back.

First is a one page showing two boats with a background of a large mountain, was drawn from a boat. Second is a two page pencil drawing of Naples Italy, taken aboard the Harriet in 1844. Third is a study of cows and a donkey signed. Fourth is a two page pencil drawing of Florence, Italy as seen from the countryside and is signed. The fifth and final sketch shows unknown buildings on one page. Sketchbook is fully leather bound with ornate gilt titling on the front, back and spine. Latch present. Key not present.
