CHESTER HEWELL FACE JUG WITH LANIER MEADERS BIRTHDAY IN...(Gillsville, Georgia, 20th century) speckled olive green alkaline glaze, two large glass runs down from spout, applied facial features, inset kaolin eyes with blue painted pupils, broken china teeth, large ears and nose, pronounced chin, short spout, applied strap handle, inscribed on back "Oct. 4 1997, Hewell's Pottery Celebrates Lanier Meaders 80th Birthday", signed on base "Chester Hewell" and "CSA" with museum number "5P-211" on base, 10-3/4 in.

3PCS STONEWARE FACE JUGS AND AN INSCRIBED LAMP Three pieces stoneware including face jugs and an inscribed lamp, comprising a Brown's Pottery face jug with a strap handle, open mouth with intentionally broken teeth, and olive drip glaze, having a stamped mark en verso, signed and dated underneath, Charlie Brown, 11/28/90; a Grace Nell (Granny) Hewell (American 1933-2016), small face jug with bulging blue eyes and tobacco spit glaze, signed and dated 2000 underneath; a Chester Hewell (Granny's son) incised jug now mounted as a lamp, the inscription reading "43 President USA, Jan 20 2001, George W.
