White enamel face with three concentric dials, the inner being the hours dial with Roman numerals, XII-II-IIII et seque, the outer indicating a period of 30 minutes with Arabic numerals, 30-5-10 et seque to 25, and between these two a dial graduated in three 120-degree sectors, each marked in Arabic numerals, 0.1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8. et seque, to indicate the number of "bells" to be struck at a given time. Yellow metal hour and minute hands. Movement with verge escapement (brass movement and ornately pierced jeweled balance cock), which is engraved "PATENT No.321 Morris Tobias London" and has a "slow-fast" adjustment. Dial marked 1-8 in Arabic numerals indicating each half-hour bell of a four-hour watch. The numbers are further subdivided into six units representing five minute intervals as the short hand moves through eight units. The longer hand rotates once each hour with each of the eight units representing 7½ minutes. Hinged locking bezel and spring-loaded winding dust cover. Production Howard Miller Ethan Allen mahogany case with West Germany Franz Hermle clock works #1050-020 also marked "81". The clock includes 3 chime - Whittington, St. Michael and Westminster with a silent selector. The clock is currently working and chimes in all selections however it is running fast and needs adjustment. Overall in very nice pre-owned condition.

Federal Carved Mahogany, Mahogany Veneer, and Bird's-eye Maple Inlaid Tall Case Clock, southeastern Massachusetts, c. 1805-15, the painted dial with moon's age in the arch and a ship flying an American flag, refinished, (imperfections), ht. 92 in. Note: The inside of the waist door inscribed "Isaac Cory bought of Sylvester Brownell and brought in a sleigh around from the Deacon Brownell Farm of the west side of the River in Acoaxet - in early part of 18th [sic] century." A note accompanying the clock, written on a brown bag, further details that the clock descended through a family on Westport Point.

Condition:
in overall fine condition, fretwork with small repairs, dial with minor paint loss, craquelure and two areas of paint retouches, calendar aperture appears to have been repainted as examined under blacklight, bonnet returns with later glass panels (one with chipping), case with one strip patch along rear return, one repaired front foot, other general wear as expected with age and use
Mahogany Pillar and Scroll Clock by Erastus Hodges, Torrington, Connecticut, c. 1830, the scroll-top case with full-length door, painted wooden dial with Roman numerals, gilded spandrels, and floral decoration inside chapter ring, painted tablet below of a mother and daughter, serpentine skirt, French feet, printed maker's label inside, thirty-hour "east-west" wooden movement with countwheel strike, two lead weights, and pendulum, ht. 30 1/2 in.
The top 1 1/2 in. of both scrolls is restored and front surface reveneered, replacement base, dial color and lining enhanced.

Chester County, Pennsylvania Federal mahogany tall case clock, ca. 1820, the broken arch bonnet enclosing an eight day works, signed G.W. Baldwin, over a case with chamfered corners and turned feet, the case attributed to Thomas Ogden, West Chester 1790-1841, 96 1/2" h. A newly identical case is illustrated in Schiffer, Furniture and Its Makers of Chester County, Pennsylvania, fig. 84.
AARON WILLARD BOSTON EGLOMISE AND INLAID MAHOGANY SHELF...Massachusetts, circa 1810-1820, surmounted by a brass eagle finial and shaped crest, lyre and foliate eglomise door signed "Aaron Willard, Boston", interior door impressed with "322", painted dial, brass movement, case with string inlay, bolection base, brass bun feet, includes winder, weights and pendulum, 32-1/4 x 12-1/2 x 6 in.
