One marked "Lane Presented by Grand Piano & Furniture Co., ROANOKE, VA" to the inside of the lid, the second is marked "Lane Presented by Schewel Furniture, ORANGE, VA" to the inside of the lid, and the third is unmarked. All three measure approximately 9" long by 5" wide with a height of 3-1/2" and a depth of 2-1/2". One lock in good working condition at the time of cataloging.

Queen Anne Cedar Chest on Frame, Bermuda, c. 1760, the molded rectangular top opening to an interior with till, case with decorative dovetailing and applied base molding, resting on a scalloped frame supported by cabriole legs, (repairs), ht. 31 1/4, wd. 56 3/4, dp. 23 1/2 in. Literature: For closely related examples, see Bryden Hyde's Bermuda's Antique Furniture and Silver, pp. 118-121. Estimate $800-1,200 The skirt, legs and bottom boards of the chest to have been replaced. The skirt looks to have been stained a similar color to the wood, but seems somewhat blotchy. The glue blocks and corner blocks are newer, with modern glue and screws used. The hinges have been replaced as well as some strips of wood where the old hinges had blown out. There is also a patch to the interior of the chest The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Vintage 1950 Lane Cedar Chest
Serial #050150 which dates it 05-10-1950 per Lane guidelines, style #2250 M (medium finish). The cedar chest still has the original Lane Company manufacturer guarantee tag and original key for lock which all still works. Birch veneer over solid cedar waterfall style chest. The cedar chest is all original from a one owner estate with a little veneer wear on the base sides.

Antique ca.1930's Ed Roos Cedar Chest
Produced by Ed Roos Company Forest Park Illinois also known as E.R. Company Forest Park 1920-1950, closed in 1951. Made of solid cedar with a mahogany finish on the outside and an oak base. Clearly stamp marked on the inside with a paper tag on bottom. Has the original finish with minor age distressing from an estate.
