A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH SPELTER STATUE CLOCK WITH MARBLE: The spelter figure of a boy with bird beside a fountain head with inset marble and French clock movement fronted by a hand painted porcelain enamel dial with floral garland, the time and strike movement is unmarked, the whole upon a marble platform with molded edge raised on four toupie feet. . N.B. Paeff immigrated to Boston as a child from Minsk, Russia, and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. A version of this sculpture is in the Boston Public Garden near the Arlington Street entrance.
