RARE HENRY CLARKE UNDER LEVER DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 9981. Beautiful little double with 27-15/16" Damascus bbls, tapered, concave, smooth rib with single bead and with the maker's name & address. It has double bite with extractors & double triggers. The bbls have been nitro-proofed over the black powder proofs and it has 2-3/4" chambers. It is mounted in highly figured English walnut with tiny, full-checkered, splinter forearm with Parker shaped metal forend tip. It has a checkered semi-pistol grip stock, 14-7/16" over a flat-checkered horn buttplate. The tiny receiver has reinforced sides with beautifully scalloped fences & long top tang with sideplates all engraved in extremely fine, beautiful, English rose & scroll engraving with about 70% coverage. The opening lever and lower tang are engraved to match and it has a small flourish at the end of the rib. It has the safety lever on the top tang and "SAFE" in gold. Bore restrictions: left - .003, right - .007. Drop at the heel 2-3/16", drop at the comb 1-5/8". Weight: 4 lb 15.2 oz. Accompanied by a fine, early brown, leather leg-o-mutton case. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-97% extremely fine Damascus pattern with most of their restored brown finish. Receiver and lockplates retain most of their fine case colors, slightly faded around the edges. Wood is sound with a small splice above the left sideplate and retains about all of a fine restored oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bores with some light frosting just in front of the chambers. Case has a light scuff or two, otherwise is very fine. 4-54326 JR707 (5,000-8,000)
DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). SN 49809. Fine deluxe rifle with 26" oct bbl, full magazine, ivory bead hunting front sight with platinum line 3-leaf express rear sight. Mounted with "H"- style checkered, about 2X, American walnut with capped pistol grip stock with Winchester embossed hard rubber buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter fully identifying this rifle with oil finish wood, shipped on Nov. 10, 1898. Also accompanied by an orig Winchester styl;e leg-o-mutton takedown case, 27” overall with hinged lid, carrying strap & handle. Right has a rectangular brass plate inscribed S. C. L. Haskell. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 95-97% strong, bright, orig, factory blue with a few pinpoints of light surface rust. Magazine tube retains 93-95% strong bright orig blue with wear from the takedown. Receiver retains about 15% flaked orig blue with balance a blue/brown patina. Lever retains traces of case colors in sheltered areas & hammer about 80% dark case colors. Wood is sound with some slight oil staining around receiver & shows moderate wear to checkering and retains most of a wiped on light finish, easily restored to oil finish. Buttplate has a chip at heel. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. Case is fair with open rear seam on the body, torn hinge & detached buckle. Handle & strap are fine. AN OLD CANVAS COVERED SHOULDER OF MUTTON GUN CASE, 79cm long
*VERY RARE SPECIAL ORDER CUSTOM GRADE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. 3". SN W34203. Spectacular '21' apparently built for John Olin with flat side round action. Bbls are 28", choked MOD/IMP-CYL with ventilated rib, red ivory Bradley front bead, ejectors & gold plated sgl selective trigger. Receiver, chamber end of bbls & forend iron are engraved in a modified "21-2" style with the addition of a raised gold setter on left side, a raised gold pointer on right side & a large raised gold flying duck on bottom. Mounted with exceptional exhibition grade American walnut with black insert field style beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock with '21-B' carving, 15" over rnd edge leather covered pad. There is a blank gold initial plate on bottom. Rib has "CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER" in gold & bbl markings are all inlaid in gold. Top tang has "SAFE" in gold. Water table, standing breech, bbl faces, ejectors, bbl flats, lug & forend lug are beautifully jeweled. Accompanied by a copy of orig Winchester order dated "4 02 79" with the notation in the "SHIP TO" section "GUN TO BE INSPECTED AND PICKED UP BY A COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE". The "SOLD TO" section reads "OLIN CORP. / PUBLIC RELATIONS / 460 PARK AVE. / NEW YORK, N.Y.". Under the description of work to be done which includes the specifications of this shotgun as found, also states that "RAISED GOLD INLAYS OF HIGHEST QUALITY" and "AMERICAN WALNUT HAND SELECTED / EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN GRAND / AMERICAN QUALITY" and further "hand rubbed French polish finish" and it was to weigh between 7-1/2 and 7-3/4 lbs. Also accompanied by a tan leg-o-mutton case. Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Bore restrictions: left - .014, right - .008. Wall thickness: left - .031, right - .030. Bore diameter: left - .644, right - .654. Weight: 7 lbs. 10.56 oz. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. As new, appears to be unfired retaining virtually all of its fine orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Bluing appears to have extra polish & wood a fine hand rubbed finish. L C SMITH EAGLE GRADE HAMMERLESS SIDE LOCK SHOTGUN. 20 gauge, 28" nitro trademark barrels, 44 3/4" overall, single selective "Hunter one" trigger, automatic ejector, checkered semi-pistol grip stock and forend, scroll engraved receiver, side locks engraved with duck on right and pheasant on left, top lever with eagle, inlaid silver name oval, hard rubber pistol grip cap, rubber recoil pad, leg of mutton leather case, serial #FWE53567, manufactured 1923, total production of "eagle" grades approximately 580 units. *PARKER GHE GRADE DOUBLE BARREL 2-BARREL SET. Cal. 20 ga. SN 241775. Built on an “O” frame with 26” bbls (#2) choked MOD/IMP-CYL with after-market ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads & 28” bbls (#1) choked MOD/IMP-CYL with tapered, concave, matted rib & dbl ivory beads with rear bead broken. They both have doll’s head rib extensions with ejectors and receiver has a Parker sgl selective trigger. They are numbered “1” and “2” respectively, as are their forearms. Mounted with very highly figured, flame grain, American walnut with two checkered, splinter forearms & pistol grip stock, 14” over a checkered, skeleton buttplate. Receiver is engraved in typical “G” patterns with two flying ducks on left side, two quail on right side & two pheasants on floorplate with extra flourishes of foliate arabesque patterns. Accompanied by a fine leg-o-mutton case compartmented for both sets of bbls & stocked receiver. #1 BBLS: Bore diameter: left - .620, right - .620. Bore restrictions: left - .021, right - .009. Wall thickness: left - .027, right - .029. #2 BBLS: Bore diameter: left - .618, right - .618. Bore restrictions: left - .013, right - .008. Wall thickness: left - .033, right - .029. Drop at heel: 2-1/4”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Weight with 26” bbls: 6 lbs. 9.92 oz. CONDITION: Fine. #1 bbls retain 96-97% strong orig factory blue with brilliant shiny bores. #2 bbls retain about 95% of a restored blue, apparently done when rib was installed, with bright shiny bores. Receiver retains about 40% orig case colors, strong in sheltered areas, fading to silver elsewhere. Trigger guard retains about 80% orig blue. Stock has a crack on right side panel and #2 forearm has a crack at rear edge, otherwise wood is sound with #1 forearm retaining most of its orig factory varnish while stock & #2 forearm retain most of an applied, lightly sanded, oil finish. Stock has light handling & use marks with a couple of long scratches and both it and #2 forearm show moderate to heavy wear. Mechanics are fine. Case is very fine. 4-56766 JR562 (4,000-6,000)

Both bbls have tapered concave matted ribs with sgl bead, doll’s head extensions, ejectors, & receiver has dbl triggers. Mounted with very nicely figured, feather crotch cut, American walnut with two checkered splinter forearms & pistol grip stock, 14-3/8” over a Kershon White Line recoil pad. Receiver is engraved with standard G-patterns of two flying geese on left side, two bob white quail on right side & two pheasants on floorplate with “PARKER” at bottom front. It has flourishes of foliate arabesque patterns. Accompanied by a Parker letter fully identifying this shotgun & indicating shipment Oct. 8, 1938 to Nelson Hardware Co. It only lists the 26” bbls. Also accompanied by a fine tan leather leg-o-mutton case, compartmented for shotgun & both sets of bbls. 26” Bbls: Bore diameter: left - .732, right - .732. Bore restrictions: left - .009, right - .009. Wall thickness: left - .031, right - .030. 28” Bbls: Bore diameter: left - .732, right - .731. Bore restrictions: left - .036, right - .018. Bbls retain most of their strong, orig, factory blue with slight muzzle edge wear on 28” bbls & some turning to plum over chamber areas of 26” bbls. Receiver retains strong, muted case colors on sides, top & bottom tangs & in sheltered areas with bottom of receiver mostly turned silver. Trigger guard retains most of its orig bright blue. Stock has a tiny chip back of top tang & a crack at back edge of forearm, otherwise wood is sound with some crazing of finish on buttstock & a spot of dull varnish by crack on forearm. *VERY RARE PRESENTATION PARKER DHE DAMASCUS DBL BBL HAMMERLESS SHOTGUN PRESENTED TO FITZHUGH LEE, JR. GRANDNEPHEW OF ROBERT E. LEE. Cal. 12 ga. SN 110451. Built on a #2 frame with 30" fine pattern Damascus bbls choked MOD/CYL, matted rib, dbl ivory beads, doll's head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is typically engraved in "D" pattern with a bird dog on both sides and four partridge on the bottom. Wood is very nicely figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/4" over a checkered skeleton buttplate. Bottom of the stock has a small silver initial plate inscribed in period script "Fitzhugh Lee Jr. / US Army / 1902". Fitzhugh Lee Jr., the grand-nephew of Robert E. Lee and great-great grandson of Light Horse Harry Lee, served with distinction as a colonel in the 7th Cavalry after the Spanish American War. Additional research will surely disclose a wealth of information regarding Col. Lee. Drop at the heel 2-3/4", drop at the comb 1-11/16". Weight: 7 lbs. 8.8 oz. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating this shotgun was ordered Sept. 24, 1902 by Lt. Fitzhugh Lee, Jr., 12th U.S. Cavalry and shipped Sept. 29, 1902 to Fort Clark, Bracketville, TX. It fully identifies this shotgun including the bbl chokes and lists special instructions "engrave shield Fitzhugh Lee, Jr., U.S. Army". The base price was $100.00 but he was only charged $75.00 and the order included a mutton leg case & rod for $5.00 more. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 85-90% strong orig Damascus pattern with a few small nicks & dings. There is a dent in each bbl. Receiver retains traces of case colors being mostly a mottled silver/gray metal color. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang and another on the right stock flat, otherwise the wood is sound and retains about 90% strong orig varnish.
