LOUIS XV STYLE CHINOISERIE GILT BRONZE CLOCK Louis XV style gilt and patinated bronze mantle clock, early 20th century, with Chinoiserie motifs having two figures holding parasols and sitting atop a cushion above a bamboo howdah housing a white clock dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, a figure at the front guides the elephant on their journey, a monkey reaching around in the rear, all raised on a rocaille base supporting a rocky naturalist landscape, unsigned. 16.75? H x 14.75? W x 8.25? D. Note: After a model by Henri-Charles Balthazar (French, 18th century), based on the original design by Ismail al-Jazari (1136?1206). Provenance: From the estate of American film producer Martin Bregman (Scarface, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon). Removed from his Park Avenue apartment decorated by Sister Parish and Albert Hadley.

Accompanied by (2) similar enamel and silver elephants with howdahs and riders - one missing underside of base. From a Manhattan, NY estate. Dimensions: larger elephant measures approx. 5" w x 3" d x 6.75" h; smaller elephants measure approx. 2.5" w x 1.5" d x 3.675" h. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and dings/dents; enamel losses; one smaller elephant missing underside of base; larger elephant missing drop pendant on canopy of howdah.

Dimensions: larger elephant measures approx. 3.50" w x 2.75" d x 5" h; smallest elephant measures approx. 2" w x 1.5" d x 2.5" h. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. All elephants exhibit loss to enamel. One elephant is missing a pearl. One elephant has become detached from base and is missing underside of base as well as (3) pearls.
