A JAPANESE IRON KETTLE AND BRONZE MIRROR 19th century, includes an iron kettle cast with bird and bamboo decoration, handle has incised key motif, lid with signature to underside and note stating "Top was made by Ryubundo an expert maker of tops in Kyoto. Older than 50 years" (H 8 3/4 in. with handle extended; 8 1/2 in. x 7 in.) (old tape remains to underside of cover; some rust to interior and a small spot to exterior near rim finial a bit loose and some loss to mount), and a bronze hand mirror cast with the auspicious motifs representing longevity a pair of cranes, a long tailed minogame turtle, bamboo, and pine, an inscription down the left hand side, reverse is a smooth surface (10 5/8 in.; good estate condition, general wear and discoloration consistent with age.)
