Two Cut Overlay Glass, Brass, and Marble Table Lamps, late 19th century, one with the lamp font with cut double overlay white cut to clear over red glass, ruby flash glass shaft cut to clear glass; the other lamp font of cut transparent blue over clear glass, both electrified, overall ht. 26, 21 in.
The glass is in good condition on both lamps, the red one has a light coating of brownish fuel residue on the font in some areas.

PIANO LAMP. Brass lamp having a handpainted shade openwork metal font ropetwist column marble insert and openwork base with lower shelf. 70'' h. The diameter of the top hole is approximately 3 3/4'' dia. The bottom hole is approximately 3 1/4'' dia. The top and bottom openings have a somewhat rough texture that is consistent with the texture of the glass throughout the globe. This lamp may have been modified at some time in terms of height. The globe is likely not original to the lamp.

The columnar standard gilt with flower stems on a black ground, surmounted by a Corinthian capital and above a white marble base, the font with label inscribed "CORNELIUS & CO./ PHILAD./ PATENT/APRIL 1ST 1843," hung with prisms, the glass globe cut and etched with lancet arches enclosing stems and alternating with shields, acorns and stylized flower stems. Height 24 ¾ inches.
