A lute atop a red ottoman is in the foreground, a matching red chair with an open book is in the midground, and a bowl of flowers on a windowsill before an open window is in the background. Signed "Sydney Muschamp" lower left. Housed and matted under glass in a marbled wooden frame with egg form sight edge having placard with artist's name, nationality, dates, and potential title "The Music Room" affixed to lower edge of frame. Sight: 15" H x 23" W. Framed: 23 3/8" H x 31 3/8" W.
Condition:
Painting in overall very good condition. Not examined outside of frame. Frame with restoration to lower right edge. Hairline to placard measuring 2 5/8" L.

Kushner, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. ,000-5,000 Watercolor heightened with pastel. Framed. Sheet is unevenly cut, so width and length are at some variance. With 3 tape pieces at top edge verso affixed to underamt. Also on verso, yellowed tape across most of top edge of sheet, most of one edge of sheet, and tape remnants and some associated abrasion of sheet along other edge and bottom. Along parts of bottom and left outer edges of shee, there are some breaks, losses to sheet, and tiny tears to sheet. An approximate 3/4 x 3/8 in. area of sheet is gone at upper left outer corner. The outer top left edges of sheet are unpainted, by artist''s design. Across top outer edge of front of sheet, there are 2 large (removable) tape pieces which help to hold sheet to undermat. There is a pinhead size hole in sheet at upper right. There is some inherent rippling of sheet due to the watercolor. Fresh, strong colors.
