EARLY 20TH CENTURY including two pairs of red coat and mess dress jackets, the smaller pair by Jones & Co, Regent Street Pall Mall, London; the second larger pair by Hawkes & Co, 14 Piccadilly W, both with handwritten canvas name labels, both red coats with regimental badges to the collars and cord epaulettes, both mess dress jackets with regimental buttons; together with an EDWARDIAN SCOTTISH OFFICER’S BASKET HILTED SWORD, by Hawkes & Co, London, the double-edged blade etched with initials, coats-of-arms, motto and dated 1902, with red silk tassel, fish skin and double wire handle, red canvas lined basket and steel scabbard; and a GEORGE V SCOTTISH INFANTRY OFFICER'S CROSS HILTED BROAD SWORD, by Hawkes & Co, London, double edged blade engraved with thistles and royal cipher for George V, fish skin grip bound with a single twist of silver wire, red silk tassel, contained in a leather field service scabbard(6)Larger sword 104cm longProvenance: Belonging to Major (Then Capt.) Murray Alister Cooper James Henryson-Caird.

A 1914/15 TRIO TO PTE SHEPHERD 1ST KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS 1914/15 Star correctly impressed, 13749 Pte W J Shepherd K O Sco Bord Pair correctly impressed, 13749 Pte W J Shepherd K O Sco Bord Condition VF+ With cap badge. William K Shepherd landed in Gallipoli on the 30th June 1915; he suffered a bullet wound to his left leg on the 17th of September 1915. He was evacuated to Malta for recovery and, due to the seriousness of the wound, was sent back to the UK. He was discharged in March 1916 due to no longer being physically fit.

ANTIQUE SOUTH WALES MILITARY UNIFORMAn antique South Wales Borderers Officer's uniform, comprised of a Colonel's dress tunic retaining Regimental bronzed collar badges & buttons, the shoulder straps with rank insignia, both arms with Prince of Wales plume Divisional badges and title Cadet Force. Complete with trousers, shirt, tie and Sam Browne belt. Accompanied by a Regimental Mess jacket in scarlet melton cloth with green facings to the collar and cuffs. The tailor's label on the lining noting 'D.R. Llewellyn'. (Colonel W.H.C. Llewellyn joined the South Wales Borderers in 1913, and was later appointed Lord Lieutenant, and given the rank of Honorary Colonel). Provenance: Bosleys Auctions U.K. 10 /11 /2000.
