Antique Steer Horn Black Powder Flask: Available in this lot is an authentic antique Steer horn black powder flask showing a carved wooden cap. The piece dates circa 1700's-1800's. This was used to fill a black powder gun and worn around the waist or shoulder of an cowboy. The horn is in good condition considering its age. It measures 10 1/4" long. Custom 50 Caliber Black Powder Percussion RifleThis is a 1970's custom hand made reproduction 50 caliber Hawkins black powder percussion rifle. Hand built in USA (northeast) by black powder gun smith as an exact duplicate of the mid 1880's Pre Civil War era Hawkins style rifles (no makers mark or signature is visible). Has a beautiful #1 grade walnut grained Monte Carlo stock custom made 34'' octagonal barrel buffalo horn rear sight steel butt plate and brass trigger guard. Has a hand turned oak ram rod with brass tip. The rifle is 51'' long overall. The rifle includes a hand made ''Trapper'' style blanket rifle sleeve. The estate indicates this custom black powder rifle was built sometime in the 1970's (latter part) at a cost of $800-900.00. It has been cleaned and tested and it is in excellent firing and collectible condition.
