Seth Thomas (1785-1859) apprenticed to a carpenter and then when 22 years of age he joined the firm Terry and Hoadley in clock making. He then started his clock factory in Plymouth Hollow and remained there until his death in 1859. He was regarded as one of the most honest and successful clock makers of his time. He is one of the most recognized makers even in modern time.

W. Uhlmann," incised "A.G. Schaffer & Walcker," incorporating a circular socle. Height: 17 3/4" Width: 11 1/8" Depth: 6 1/2" Note: Alexandra, Princess of Wales was presented this kokoshnik tiara in 1888 on the occasion of her 25th wedding anniversary to Albert Edward Prince of Wales, by The Ladies of Society (365 peeresses of the United Kingdom). Originally designed by Garrard and influenced by the diamond kokoshnik tiara worn by her sister the Dowager Empress of Russia Maria Feodorovna (a.k.a. Minnie). Unfortunately, Minnie's tiara was not part of the jewels she escaped with during the revolution so its location is unknown. The Queen Alexandra tiara survives to this day and apparently is one of Queen Elizabeth II favorite tiaras.Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.

W. Uhlmann, " incised "A. G. Schaffer & Walcker, " incorporating a circular socle. Height: 17 3/4" Width: 11 1/8" Depth: 6 1/2" Note: Alexandra, Princess of Wales was presented this kokoshnik tiara in 1888 on the occasion of her 25th wedding anniversary to Albert Edward Prince of Wales, by The Ladies of Society (365 peeresses of the United Kingdom). Originally designed by Garrard and influenced by the diamond kokoshnik tiara worn by her sister the Dowager Empress of Russia Maria Feodorovna (a. k. a. Minnie). Unfortunately, Minnie's tiara was not part of the jewels she escaped with during the revolution so its location is unknown. The Queen Alexandra tiara survives to this day and apparently is one of Queen Elizabeth II favorite tiaras. Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
