C. 1911- 8 BAR 8 BRANDING IRON MID E MONTANAFeatured in this lot is this 8 Bar 8 branding iron mid east Montana circa 1911-1920. The branding iron features blacksmith construction that shows a sucker rod construction with a triple split frame attached to the brand which shows an 8 with a bar and a horizontal 8. The brand and age was identified using the Montana State Library Montana History Portal registry and shows a reference number of '2418'. The condition of this branding iron is well preserved with oxidation due to the age of the branding iron but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this branding irons is 48 3/4" x 6 7/8" x 3 5/8". The collective weight of this branding iron is 4lb 6oz.
