Mother of pearl inlay on tailpiece, overall 23 1/2''. Sold with 2 bows, one stamped Joh. O. Paulus (29 1/2'' long, 59 grams), the other stamped Germany (29 1/4'' long, 59 grams) and a canvas covered hard case, 31'' x 11'' x 5 1/2''.CONDITION: Several cracks and repairs, sold as-is.

CONDITION. The body is in overall good condition. Approximately a dozen scattered scratches to the verso, the longest measuring roughly 4 cm (1 5/8 in. ) Scratch to the body under the tuners. Albani / in Tyrol'', together with a French bow illegibly marked ''Hus...ni a Paris'', and another bow marked ''Germany'', together with a black fabric covered case, 3 pcs, the violin. 23.5'' H x 8'' W x 3.5'' D. Provenance: Property from a Woodland Hills, CA Estate. Condition: French bow: length - 29''. With surgical tape around pad. German bow: length - 29''. Bows in generally good condition - lacking hairs. General light marks, scratches, dirt accumulation and tarnishing to metal elements. Both with mother of pearl inlay. Violin, circa 1900 to 1910, label to interior "Andreas Amati fecit Cremone anno 1672", includes two bows, one unmarked with round shaft and mother-of-pearl dot inlay and one marked "Trade Mark Nippon", pitch pipe in box and G.S.B. hardshell case with original label to interior compartment. MEASUREMENTS: Violin 23-1/2". Case 31-1/2". CONDITION: Violin dry with edge wear, toning, finish wear, back separating slightly from front near bottom. Tuning pegs, tailpiece and bridge are detached but included except for one missing tuning peg. Bows with finish wear, hair is missing overall. Case with overall wear, handle and one clasp replaced, crack to lid.
GERMAN VIOLIN AFTER JOSEPH GUARNERIUS Being an early 20th century student's kit, the interior label reads "Joseph Guarnerius fecit / Cremonae anno 1792 IHS," below which is a tiny "Made in Germany" label; maple sides and a two-piece back with mother-of-pearl inlay; includes bow marked "LAFLEUR," a wooden coffin case, and a 1925 instrument rental receipt.
