The games compendium possibly originally retailed by F.H. Ayres. The hinged lid opening to reveal a folding gilt tooled red and black Moroccan leather chess and backgammon board, before a bone inlaid cribbage board and various small bone dice above a part set of bone and ebony dominoes and a part set of seventeen matched natural and twelve ebony counters, a further card tray beneath containing three Bezique markers and two part sets of cards, the under section with six painted cast lead racing horse figures, two steeplechase jumps, and a mirrored water jump, together with a pair of turned wood dice shakers, the front of the box opening to reveal a fitted interior containing a thirty two piece natural wood and ebony chess set.
