Donald J. Wendling Landscape Oil on Canvas depicting the Macungie PA train station. A legendary folk painter and conservator, Donald James Wendling, 89, of Macungie, died Dec. 10, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Audrey Joan (DeWalt) Wendling. Born in Seisholtzville, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Acker) Wendling. He served in the Army Reserves. Donald was the co-owner of Wendling Restorations, specializing in the restoration of antique and classic cars for 55 years. He was an artist, focusing on landscape painting and was a craftsman, building and restoring furniture. He was a member of Salem Bible Church. 30"H x 38"L, the back inscribed "Macungie Station, by DJ Wendling 2008, Macungie Hotel in background destroyed by fire in 70's", engraved brass tag lower central part of frame, the frame hand made by the artist, 36" H x 44 1/4".
