FRENCH TAMBOUR MARBLE AND BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK CIRCA 1870 5 ?" thick x 13 ¼" wide x 14 ¼" tall White enamel dial with arabic numerals for all chapters, all minute hash marks at the dials edge, the quarter hours marked in red at 3, 6, 9, and 12. Gilt Louis XV type minute/hour hands. Full plate Japy style movement with count wheel. Case is made from slabs of veined black marble, in the stepped base fashion. Gilt ball beading separating the steps of the clock case. Classic berry and leaf, French bow binding, plaque below six o'clock. Case is topped with a spread winged eagle, and rests on bun style feet.. Winding key included. Domed glass crystal.
