LARGE GLASS CASED SHIP MODEL, 'THE ANNE & HOPE'Model ship, "Ann and Hope" our of Providence, Rhode Island, a China trade three mast ship housed in glass display case, interior brass plate, ship approx 38"h, 42"w., 14"d, case: 40.75"h, 45.25"w, 16.5"d **Note: The merchant ship Ann and Hope was built in 1798. It was armed with twelve nine-pound cannons and briefly engaged a French ship in 1800. The ship traveled and traded with Atlantic and Pacific countries. The Ann and Hope went aground and was lost on the rocks at Block Island, Rhode Island in 1806. Three crew lost their lives and most of the $300,000 cargo was also lost.**
