Condition:
All cups are in excellent condition. None show a sign of restoration under UV light. Most cups do not have any visible chips, cracks, or dents. Two orange cups with handle, which are not glazed, and a geometric patterned cup have three areas with different colors along their footrim, possibly from the felt pads that were originally attached to them. The cup in the center in the second row has a 1/2 inch crack to where the handle meets the body part of the cup. All have light wear to their footrim, consistent with their age and use. Huge 20th C. Apache Wicker & Pitch Water Basket w/ Cups: **Originally Listed At $1500**. . Native American, Southwestern United States, Apache people, ca. early 20th century CE. A sizable water basket formed from tightly woven wicker strands and covered in sticky pitch to fill the innumerable gaps between the strands and halt any leakage of the liquid contained within. The flat-bottomed vessel exhibits a compressed form with a bulging central carination and a sloped shoulder that tapers to form the broad neck and flared rim. Three metal cups have handles knotted with strips of either leather or colorful cloth that are suspended from the basket neck via a thick strip of red fabric. Traces of natural red, brown, and grey earthen hues are visible across the exterior and cavernous interior. Size: 19. 7" Diameter x 19. 625" H (50 cm x 49. 8 cm). . . The white dehua Gu vase has a small flared base and an much larger trumpet shaped mouth, with an archaic porcelain decoration in the middle. With recessed base. Each cup has a slightly flared rim and design with Chinese landscape with houses. Naturalistic cross banded handles.
