Attractive English Ivory-Painted Wooden Jewel Cabinet, third quarter 19th century, in the Chinese taste, having two doors opening to reveal a bank of three transverse shallow drawers with turned and polished bone pulls, the lid lifting to reveal four emerald green velvet-lined compartments, all but one of them with a cover, the whole supported on four brass ball feet, h. 11-1/2", w. 11-1/2", d. 9-1/4". A similar jewel cabinet is in the bedroom of Princess Charlotte at the Brighton Pavilion, King George IV's pleasure pavilion on the English coast.
