Note: The Gillow stamp was used c. 1835-1870.
Condition
Scuffing and staining to the leather top with an age split in the middle. Three handles broken off with losses to two others. One of three broken handles retained with desk. Missing one ebonized escutcheon with losses to another. Minor nicks and wear throughout. Beautifully carved and structurally sound.

Replaced leather top with age cracks, seam separations and black painted molding rubbed and nicked in places. The drawer pulls replaced and other mounts added later. One side faded from sun exposure. Scattered scuffs and nicks throughout. In generally good restored condition. Each with wear and surface abrasions. The card holder with a few bruises. The silver plate all with bruises and wear to the plate with base metal bleeding through. The cosmetic case lacking components, some detached and the mirror with breaks to the edges, the compartment hinge popped.
