ALLEN AKINA PORTRAIT OF A HAWAIIAN WOMAN PAINTING Hawaii,1940-1991Depicts a woman with tanned skin, dark hair, and brown eyes dressed in green and orange with an amused look gracing her face against lush green foliage. Akina was a well respected Hawaiian artist often depicting Hawaiian natives, however he is best known for illustrations and designs for clothing. In the late 1990's it was common to see Akina's designs on dresses in Honolulu.
