A large Japanese ivory netsuke of a grazing horse later 18th / early 19th century its head lowered to the right with hooves together the tail sweeping around the back to form the himotoshi possibly later carved with vine leaves to its back unsigned 3.8in. - one leg a.f. Estimate ?200-300 The broken off section to the horses front right leg appears to be the original piece and where it has been re-stuck there are some slight losses around it the netsuke is heavily stained to a tea brown colour on the back and there are numerous fine stained cracks all over please see photographs.
