A RARE CHINESE BRONZE FANG DING VESSEL A bronze ritual vessel of rectangular form (fangding) with Western Zhou Dynasty (1046–771 BCE) features, possibly period, raised on four cylindrical legs at each corner, deep well, flat rim with rounded corners, u-shaped handles to top of opposing sides, the sides cast with taotie mask faces in low relief and ground key and concentric patterns, vertical notched flanges divide the body, towards the top of the interior wall is a cast pictogram of an "x" and bird emblem, possibly a clan mark, the vessel 's surface has encrustation and green patina, comes together with a fitted carved wooden stand.
