Condition:
intact with only incidental wear, fabric has picked up light fuzz and could benefit from careful cleaning, discrete writing on some tags "Thompson"

Two Midshipmen's Dirks American, mid 19th century: one with turned ivory grip with brass cap, double-edged blade, openwork brass quillin, 10-3/8 in. excluding brass scabbard with extensive engraving, grip with patch, separations and repairs to ivory, blade with salt-and-pepper finish, scabbard with minor dents and traces of original gilding; one with ivory grip with brass fittings and ring decoration at center, double-edged blade with indistinct mark at rocasso, 12-1/2 in., with brass scabbard, blade with hole opposite mark near rocasso, otherwise bright with slight old cleaning, grip with two separations (probably as made), scabbard with slight separation near end

TWO DIRKS. England 2nd half-19th century. Ivory handled with heart imagery on the guard and blade. German silver sheath with acorn clip may be close fitting addition. Repaired handle 10''l. overall. And German silver handled with clipped point blade marked ''J. Rodgers & Sons...Sheffield'' with star and Maltese cross. Leather sheath 9 1/4''l. overall.

THREE DIRKS. European late 19th-early 20th century. Etched blade marked ''Soligen'' with vegetal ivory handle. Leather scabbard. 10 1/2''l. overall. And a dirk with blade marked ''''George Wostenholm & Son Ltd. Washington Works Sheffield'' and carved handle resembling antler 10 1/2''l. Together with a small dirk or awl with ivory and silver plate handle 5 1/2''l. The Dirk has some rust and a small split on the handle. No markings.

Two marked for Sheffield one marked Czechoslovakia. 10'' to 10 1/4''l. overall. All with leather scabbards. Two knives with horn handles has some cracks.
