1st item:Tarnish to exterior, some bone decorations are slightly loose. 2nd item: Natural age shrinkage to wood, largest 6". Hairlines, separations, areas of loss, largest 1 1/4" x 1/2" to mother of pearl inlay to lid and loss to inlay on tail of bird around the sides. Some brass mountings are slightly loose. 3rd-4th items: Minor losses to cloisonne. One jar with 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" bruise/dent to lower body. 5th item: Craquelure, 1/8" x 1 1/2" area of loss to rim.
CHINESE CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL BRONZE VASE double gourd form with wide band of flowers having glass ''jewel'' centers. Dimensions: 12.75''D x 8.75''H. Ch'ing Dynasty (1875-1908). The vase shows moderate wear throughout with a few chips to the enamel and the underside appears to have been repaired.

1st item: Scattered minor discoloration and wear to enamel; light scattered pitting throughout; minute denting to body. 2nd-3rd items: Baluster form missing the base, area of discoloration to rim, and loss to body measuring 1/4" x 3/8" with corresponding spidering fracture. Archaistic form with minor flaw in the making to lower portion of one segment and sticker residue to rim. 4th-6th items: Oxidation and surface wear commensurate with age and manner of use. FINE CHINESE CLOISONNé VASE C. MID 20TH CENTURYPresented in this lot is a Fine Chinese Cloisonné Vase, circa mid 20th Century. Graced with wonderful colour and classic cherry and lotus floral design, displays a desirable aged patina. Cloisonné, also called copper padding thread weaving enamel, is a kind of traditional enamelware and one of the most famous metal handicraft of ancient China, known as ‘Jingtai Blue' in China, is the technique of creating designs on metal vessels with colored-glass paste placed within enclosures made of gold normally, but also of copper or bronze, wires which have been bent or hammered into the desired pattern. Cloisonné enamel objects are worked on with enamel powder made into a paste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln. This is painted on freehand and so does not use partitions to hold the colours separate. Eight colours of enamel are used to create the floral motif of this cloisonné against the blue-green background fret, a border of ruyi heads at the top, ruyi clouds along the bottom border. This vintage Cloisonné vase is in fair to good overall condition, some dents observed, scratches noted to brass finish.
