GLASS BALL CASKET. The casket is suspended by cords from the top of the stage. Though it appears to be empty, it fills with multi-color balls at the magician's command. Frame constructed of brass; with seven spring balls. 6 1/4x7 3/4x5 1/4 inches (16x19.5x13 cm). France, circa 1880.

VOISIN'S VASE BALLS. 6 large multi-colored balls are placed one by one inside this vase by the magician and vanish at his command. This effect was often performed in conjunction with the Glass Ball Casket (see lot 279) in which the balls were supposed to reappear. Complete with the cover, a gimmicked metal ball and 6 large multi-colored balls. 16 inches tall (40.5 cm), base is 10 1/2 inches in diameter (27 cm), and the tube 5 inches tall (13 cm).
