A Victorian silver centerpiece bowl . William & John Barnard London 1881 retailed by Dobson Piccadilly . # 951 With erasure navette form bowl with inverted foliate scroll ends on a circular pedestal base raised on four supports height 15 1/4in (38.8cm); width 17in (43.2cm); (92 oz. 4 dwts.).

MONUMENTAL VICTORIAN SILVER CENTERPIECE. Marked for London 1875-6 and Stephen Smith. Three tiers the top-most surmounted by a classical boy holding fruit the lower tier with flanking shell-form trays the central column flanked by ram heads and kneeling angels the base with elaborate applied decoration one shield with the motto ''Confido'' (''I Trust '' the motto of the Scottish clan Boyd) and all resting on paw feet. 35''h. approximately 345 ozt. Small hole in angel's dress on underside of small bowl. One of the leaves in the finial has another maker's mark (appears to be GR over GS) but appears as originally made missing a few nuts on the underside one shell tray with a small dent and the column with a few small dents finial has small soldered repair. All pieces have hall marks. The pieces that the angel's are holding appear to be incomplete. The piece is not silver-gilt but rather has a golden patina.
