PAIR OF AESTHETIC MOVEMENT SUNFLOWER BRASS FIRE DOGS TO...Pair of English brass fireplace tool rests or fire dogs, after the designs of Thomas Jeckyll (1827 - 1881) or his brother Henry Jeckyll (1838 - 1917), made by the firm of Robbins & Company of Dudley, England. Each rest features a finely cast sunflower on an arched stem mounted on a trestle form base with flattened coiled feet connected by a top rail incised with Japanesque patterning and a rope twisted bottom rail. Registration mark on verso for 1879. 10 7/8" H x 5” W x 7 3/4" L. Late 19th century.

Overall good condition with general use wear.

Estimate ?150-200 Bronze surface with general knocks and scratches throughout consistent with age but nothing overly serious and a slight lustrous sheen to the bronze surface which is original and adds to the charm the back and base with even covering of rust throughout and general discolouration and tarnishing but expected.
