Note: The Temple of Vespasian and Titus was begun in the Roman Forum in 79 AD after Vespasian's death and Titus' succession. It was completed by his brother Domitian in 81 AD.
Condition
In good overall condition with very minor nicks and a 3 in. loss to the top cornice. Minor staining on the black marble base.Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.

14K GOLD GRAND TOUR PIETRA DURA NECKLACE, 19TH C.A 19th c. Italian Grand Tour pietra dura micromosaic set into an oval malachite, depicting the ruins of the Temple of Vespasian. Tested 14k gold frame and chain (chain weight estimated at 11.8 dwt).
The pendant measures 1 3/8" x 1 3/4", and the chain measures 15" long. The entire piece weighs 25.7 dwt.
Provenance: The Webster House collection.
Condition
There is a hairline in the malachite that runs horizontal in the upper third.

Tortoise shell, ivory and mircomosaic mounted card case late 19th century The cover centered by an oval mircomosaic depicting the Temple of Vespasian enclosed by gold and silver overlay, the reverse centered by a silver cartouche, the interior fitted with a stylus and a hinged ivory writing surface. L: 4, W: 2 3/4 in. This piece has a large crack to the back and inside of the piece, however the micro mosiac is in lovely condition and is very well done.
