Heath / in / Recognition of 48 years service / with / Southern Pacific Company / by / Officers and Crew of Str. "El Capitan" / January 31, 1918." Marked on base, "Shreve & Co / Sterling / San Francisco / 7277 / Base Loaded." Dimensions: 11.5"h. Together with a cased daguerreotype of Capt. Charles R. Heath. Captain Heath is listed in the 1910 Crocker-Langley San Francisco Directory as "Charles R. Heath, master mariner, SP Co., Ferry Bldg."
