THOMAS LAKIN PEARLWARE COMMEMORATIVE 'PRINCE OF WALES ARMORIAL SERVICE' PLATE AND A RELATED SAUCE TUREEN AND COVER ON INTEGRAL STAND.THOMAS LAKIN PEARLWARE COMMEMORATIVE 'PRINCE OF WALES ARMORIAL SERVICE' PLATE AND A RELATED SAUCE TUREEN AND COVER ON INTEGRAL STAND, WITH LADLE, circa 1810-17, each printed in blue, the plate center with a Prince of Wales feather badge surmounted by a lion on a coronet, the border with a festoon of Union flowers, including rose, thistle and shamrock, reserved on a painted iron-red mesh-like pattern ground, dia: 9.75 in.; the navette shaped sauce tureen with twig finial and scroll handles, w: 8 in.; and the ladle similarly decorated, l: 5.75 in. From the antique shop owned and run by the English author, known for his many children's books, Roald Dahl; Estate of Tom and Lee Stanley Literature: The Royal Collection Trust, RCIN 58729, for a set of Lakin pearlware plates in this pattern from a dessert service commissioned by George IV when Prince Regent.
