A JAPANESE MEIJI PORCELAIN IMARI PUNCHA JAPANESE MEIJI PORCELAIN IMARI PUNCH BOWL Meiji period (1868-1912), a large porcelain center bowl hand painted in underglaze blue, iron red, aubergine, aqua, and gilt with textile and floral designs as well as medallions with phoenix or ho-o birds, all surrounding a central medallion in the bowl's well of an animated dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst swirling clouds, exterior sides decorated in similar manner to interior, foot rim with xoxo pattern, the underside with an apocryphal six character Chenghua mark, comes together with a wooden stand.
