Pearson studied with William James and Frederick Bosley at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and figure painting under the guidance of Edmund Tarbell. Pearson also took private lessons with Aldro T. Hibbard, Henry Leith-Ross, Henry Hunt Clark, Howard Giles, Harold N. Anderson and Chase Emerson. She was a member of the Allied Artists of America, New Haven Paint & Clay Club, the Ogunquit Art Association, and the Rockport Art Association.
