The swing was mounted to the end of a pole and held above the head and many were fitted with three or four-sided transparencies bearing campaign slogans and images of Old Abe. Gettysburg edition, deluxe set, limited edition. #577 from an edition of 700. In 3/4" Moroccan leather with marbleized boards. Volume I includes a tipped in document dated Washington, 1861, signed by Abraham Lincoln with creases from folding. In the partly printed documents, Lincoln authorizes the Secretary of State William Henry Seward to affix a seal of the United States to the envelope of his Majesty the King of Prussia (Mr. Wrights recall). Volume I shows cracking to boards and some discoloration. Volume II has minor scuffing to spine. Volume IV shows cracking to top of spine. Volume IX shows cracking to spine. All other volumes show minor scuffing.
