A Continental carved ivory St. George slaying the dragon figurine on a black wood pedestal, the ivory approx. 4-3/4"H and with the pedestal overall approx. 6-1/4"H. This figurine, carved with great action, depicts St. George on a horse wielding a very threatening looking weapon just before he strikes the dragon. Prov: The J.A. Appelhof Collection, auctioned at Sadows Auction Galleries, acquired by the current owner at that auction.
