A REUGE SWISS RAILWAY STATION DANCING DOLL MECHANICAL M...A REUGE SWISS RAILWAY STATION DANCING DOLL MECHANICAL MUSIC BOX REPRODUCTION, 72 NOTES, 3 TUNES, COIN OPERATED, SAINTE-CROIX, SWITZERLAND, 1990s, the rectangular walnut and ebonized wood case with shaped arch crest centering a stylized spire before a top framing a clear glass panel, within a tapering cornice over a left side winding aperture and right side key locking escutcheon, flanking a frontal hinged door with glass window within baluster pilasters and right side coin slot, above a brass plaque engraved "REUGE MUSIC" flanking a lyre over a red silk lined carved lyre and scrolling vine fretwork panel, opening to an interior with miniature 18th century style ballerina doll wearing a bonnet and antique blue silk dress trimmed in gilt thread with lace, before the hand crank brass and steel mechanical works with cylindrical spring cover stamped "SAINTE-CROIX / SWITZERLAND," and mounted on a slanted rectangular brass base plaque beneath a back side printed label "REUGE MUSIC" flanking a lyre above "SAINTE-CROIX SWITZERLAND," over "Anniversary Song - Donauwellen / J. Ivanovici / Tales from the Vienna Woods / J. Strauss / Vienna Life / J. Strauss," and lower left "CH 3/72," opposite "37235," enclosed by a Renaissance revival style polychrome printed border, raised on a step molded base and conforming ogee plinth, includes one hand crank, one key, and Reuge directions booklet. Height: 18 1/2" Width: 13 1/2" Depth: 8 3/4" Note: This Swiss handcrafted walnut case and coin operated cylinder music mechanism faithfully follows the originals placed in railroad stations throughout Switzerland during the turn of the last century.
