  Dopey won the hearts of everyone that saw the film with his personality full of fun, innocence and the mischieviness of a child. After the release of the film, he became an international film star because of his childlike personality, his large floppy ears, oversized clothing and silly grin.

  1937, gouache on celluloid, depicting Dopey, Sneezy and Doc coming back from a day in the mines, a Walt Disney Enterprises label on the reverse, applied to an airbrushed background, matted.
  
  The dwarfs were created as nonhuman creatures with three fingers and a thumb except for Dopey. Dopey is a particular favorite for most people because of his sweet sincere personality with vast floppy ears, oversized clothing and his endurance and tolerance for accepting the abuse he receives from the other dwarfs. Doc is the leader of the group who muddles his way through the English language with his hand waving aimlessly around. The sequence director Perce Pearce did such a great job impersonating Doc that they used him for the live-action reference footage. Sneezy is very different from the rest with his sneezes, the strength of a storm which erupt whenever possible. His voice was supplied by the comedian Bill Gilbert.

  This grotesquely evil witch was voiced by the beautiful Lucille LeVerne, an established star of the stage. While Art Babbitt animated the Queen, it was Norm Ferguson who animated the Witch. For him, the most difficult part of animating this character was the transformation from the icy Queen to the evil Witch and showing her to actual feel the transformation.
